Cookie Descriptions

Chocolate Chip – This is the classic chocolate chip cookie with walnuts. Ingredients: flour, salt, baking soda, butter, vanilla, eggs, sugar, brown sugar, ghirardelli chocolate chips, walnuts.

Oatmeal Raisin – A chewy, cinnamon-y oatmeal cookie with both golden and black raisins. Ingredients: flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, oats, butter, brown sugar, sugar, eggs, vanilla, raisins.

Ginger – This is a soft, spicy ginger cookie – not a gingersnap. It is flavored with cinnamon, ginger, allspice, molasses, and enhanced with lots and lots of crystallized ginger. This cookie leaves a lovely aftertaste – which usually means that you end up reaching for yet another one! Ingredients: flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, salt, butter, molasses, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, organic crystallized ginger.

White Chocolate Chunk – A buttery, slightly crisp but still chewy cookie. The chew comes from ground coconut; the flavor is all butter, white chocolate, a hit of rum, crystallized ginger, and almonds. Hand chunked Callabaut white chocolate sets this cookie apart from the overly sweet mall cookies. Ingredients: oats, coconut, flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, butter, sugar, rum, eggs, white chocolate, almonds, organic crystallized ginger.

Lime Maple Sugar – This is one special cookie – usually lime cookies don't really taste much like lime. That's because no one wants to go to the trouble of using real limes. VLC's cookie has fresh lime juice and fresh lime zest as well as lime oil for a big citrus hit. Then to add something special, I've rolled it in a mixture of raw sugar and maple sugar to create a crunchy delicious border. Ingredients: butter, sugar, lime zest, egg, lime juice, lime oil, flour, salt.

Cranberry Cardamom – A seasonal cookie – cardamom and dried cranberries are holiday flavors. This one also has fresh orange zest to boost the cranberry flavor and is rolled in turbinado sugar for a little sparkle and crunch. Ingredients: butter, sugar, eggs, orange extract, fresh orange zest, flour, baking soda, salt, cardamom, dried cranberries, turbinado sugar.

Chocolate Fleur de Sel – This truly special cookie is little more than the best imported Belgian Callabaut chocolate and wonderful French fleur de sel. Then I add just enough flour, butter, and sugar to hold it together! This small cookie is what they mean when they say "less is more" – eat one and all your chocolate cravings will be satisfied. Ingredients: flour, cocoa, baking soda, butter, sugar, brown sugar, fleur de sel, vanilla, Callabaut bittersweet chocolate.

Sunny in Seattle – An over-the-top version of chocolate chip. In this case, I've used hand chunked bittersweet Callabaut chocolate imported from Belgium, sun dried apricots, almonds, and just enough espresso to bring Seattle to mind. Ingredients: flour, espresso powder, baking soda, salt, butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, Callabaut bittersweet chocolate, dried apricots, almonds.

Black Pearl – This little gem is a cocoa sandwich cookie that hides a filling created with raspberry jam and aged, imported balsamic vinegar. The filling and the cookie kind of meld to become one, creating a lovely combination of flavors. Ingredients: sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, butter, organic raspberry jam, balsamic vinegar.

Hair o the Dog – Did you have a hard night? Well, maybe a little more bourbon will cure your ills. This is the most decadent "cookie" I make. It's not a brownie and it's not fudge, it's somewhere in between – I don't think it really needs a category. Just call it wonderful. Makers Mark bourbon, black mission figs, Callabaut chocolate – it's over the top for some people – for others it's heaven. Ingredients: figs, bourbon, blackstrap molasses, chocolate, butter, sugar, eggs, salt, flour, cocoa.

Black and Blue – Hold me back! This is another decadent piece of chocolate. Callabaut chocolate combined with cognac soaked sundried blueberries and then rolled in turbinado sugar for glitz and crunch. Important to note that this cookie does have nuts in it – finely ground almonds which add flavor and texture. Ingredients: chocolate, butter, cognac, almonds, flour, baking powder, salt, eggs, sugar, sundried blueberries, turbinado sugar.

Lemon Lightening – If I had to guess I would say that this cookie gets more compliments than all the others. It is a lovely combination of fresh lemon zest, lemon juice, and – when I can get it – lemon oil. The wonderful chew is from a heavy dose of almond paste. Rolled in lemon sugar to complete the bright flavors, your tongue will be very, very happy. As they say, there's a party going on in my mouth!". Ingredients: almond paste, sugar, lemon zest, butter, egg, lemon juice, lemon (or lime) oil, flour, sat.

Espresso Walnut Bourbon – A simple little butter cookie perfect with a cup of joe. The name pretty much says it all – flavored with espresso, Makers Mark bourbon, toasted walnuts. Ingredients: espresso powder, fresh ground espresso beans, bourbon, vanilla, flour, baking soda, walnuts, salt, sugar, confectioners sugar, butter.

Julia's 96 – Another butter cookie, this one developed to accompany tea rather than coffee. Flavored with fresh orange zest and toasted ground almonds. Ingredients: butter, sugar, confectioners sugar, orange extract, salt, almonds, flour, orange peel.

Vision

Victory love and cookies (VLC)'s vision statement is simple and to the point: While VLC is enamored of cookies – the butter, the chocolate, the SMELL, the TASTE, the FEEL – COOKIES !!! – what VLC is really all about is love and connection. The cookie is the medium, the expression of love. It is VLC's vision that bonds will be strengthened, relationships nurtured, love and happiness manifested – all of this through an honest cookie made with human hands. May the giver find joy in the giving, and the receiver feel the thrill of receiving!

Mission

The mission of Victory love and cookies is to spread love and a feeling of connectedness through the sweet taste of a cookie. Like a puppy or a baby, a cookie brings a smile to anyone's face. And while VLC will provide the highest quality, most yummy cookies imaginable, our cookies, unlike a sports car or a villa in Italy, will be an indulgence attainable to all who dream of sweet riches.

FAQ

Why do your cookies cost more than your competitors?

To me, this is a two-part question (at least) – and I could write a book on this, but fortunately for you, I won't. Ok, first, let's look at what it is I do:
Each and every cookie is literally made by hand. No cookie stays on the shelf for more than two days. The ingredients that go into the cookies are of the highest quality: real vanilla, Belgian chocolate, Makers Mark bourbon, sundried blueberries and figs, hand grated fresh citrus. You've seen the ingredients, so you know. This isn't fast food. The chocolate comes in 11 lb. blocks that require being chunked by hand, the fruit needs to be juiced, the nuts need to be chopped. These are things that are done by a human – me – not a machine.

What I do NOT do: There is not a single artificial ingredient or flavoring in VLC cookies. There is no soy or corn syrup, no preservatives, emulsifiers, extenders, dough conditioners, scientific formulas that none of us know what they do or where they came from – a lab, I suppose. Every ingredient that I use is one that if you wanted to spend the time and the money, you could go purchase for yourself. There are no secrets or tricks. The only ingredient that I don't list in the cookie descriptions is also the most important one: LOVE.

You've heard the expression "you are what you eat". Well, in my opinion, YOU, my dear sweet customer are worth the best. You are worth the BMW, the dream house, the love of your life. What do you think you're worth?? To my mind, what you feed yourself tells your body what you think you are in fact "worth". If you feed yourself the "it's ok", the "well, it's not great but it doesn't cost so much", the bag-o-cookies that cost very little but "hey, there's a lot of them", well, what are you telling yourself? Be kind to yourself. Love yourself like you are your best, dearest friend.

In summary, are my cookies expensive? Yes, absolutely. Are they overpriced? Not by one dime. They are my gift to the world. It is my hope that people will give them to themselves, to nourish their souls, to celebrate their time on this planet.

Do your cookies have nuts in them?

All of the ingredients are listed in the cookie descriptions. However, even if a cookie does not have nuts in it, a different dough mixed in that same mixing bowl might have. If the person is asking due to a nut allergy, I would say none of my cookies are safe for them.

What about dairy/gluten/sugar, etc?

Again, all of the ingredients are listed in the descriptions. At this time, there are no gluten-free or sugar-free cookies. If I am fortunate enough to find/develop a recipe that tastes really great and fills these requirements, I will be happy to add it to the roster.

How long will these cookies last?

There are no preservatives whatsoever in the cookies – they are essentially "homemade". While no cookie is ever sold after the second day, they are still perfectly edible for a week or so.

Can I order cookies?

Absolutely. Until I get a system in place, customers will need to talk to me directly to place an order. Please call 303-455-7194 and ask for Kristy. If I'm not at the counter, people will be happy to take a message and I will get back to you ASAP.
